My Tmaxx 2.5 runs fine, but once she is warmed up she keeps cutting out. Then it's very difficult to start.

Any ideas ?

If it is indeed tuned properly it may be time for a rebuild. It is also possible it is running too lean and flaming out. Try fattening the hsn a little and see if that helps.

Knowing what temps you are running would be a big help.

I"m not sure on the temps, I haven't bought a temp tool yet. I'll try the hsn and see how it goes.

Try the pinch test. Squeeze the fuel line as close to the carb as you can. It should take between 3-4 seconds to rev and shut off. If it's more, lean the lsn. If it's less, richen it. Remember, TINY adjustments. Then run it for a few minutes at operating temp(warmed up) between adjustments.

What temp should it be at ? And which way to i adjust if it's higher ?

T-Maxxas seem to like temps in the 260-275 range. If you are hotter (and thus too lean) then you need to turn the HSN counter-clockwise to richen the mixture. Not much-- an "hour" at a time.

I would check/do two other things. Install a fresh GP and check for any leaks in the fuel tank. Often times a leak will not be apparent at a full tank but shows up after the fuel level drops below the problem area.

Mine was doing that today. Opened the hsn until it stopped. Every time I start my 2.5 is like the first time. JUNK! Slow, too. It's shot. 3.3's calling my name....

Traxxas has the engine exchange program. Take your old engine to your LHS and they will sell you a 3.3 for half price. I had an old pro.15 and upgraded to a 2.5r engine.
