I'm interested to know who else has done custom LED lights on their ride. If you have post a pic please. Here's pics of what I've done. The LaTrax Teton is my 2yr old nephews truck I lit up for him (he only knows how to steer it right now lol), the Slash body is my original truck body, and then my current Backslash

Some of those pics, the glow in the dark ones... Rig of the Month material imo!!!
BADASS!!! 😍😎👍

You should DEF enter this month!!!

My fancy lighting is a couple of rechargable bicycle headlights. Fits nothing well, lights poorly at best but takes about 2.8 seconds to strap it to my roll bar and bumper so its pretty easy at least.

I haven't lost an RC in the dark yet!!! 🤞😎🤣

I know someone already mentioned something similar but every time I read your name I think of the Jerky Boys and the Egyptian Magician!!! 🤣

Well I haven't done anything YET, but I am going to on my next rig! I've got light kits, but nothing custom. Next rig has virtually no accessories, so I gotta do it custom! Your rigs look good! Whats your process?

Glow-in-the-dark? Lol nope. In fact, you haven't seen what I did to the Slash body yet. You're gonna be picking your jaw up off the floor and pushing your eyeballs back in :)

My method is going off the headlight/tail light stickers already on the trucks. I use my soldering iron with a dedicated tip I use only for plastics and burn a perfect hole right thru the Lexan plastic body where the bulbs would be the size of the LED I plan to use. Which is mainly 10mm for the big main part of the headlights, and 5mm for the sides and tail lights. I used strip light LEDs for the Slash and Teton tail lights. The kind that can be cut into single LEDs sections. Now for the Backslash headlights, those are just 5mm. Don't have a lot of options for placement with that truggy. I ended up using one of the old body tower post holder pieces to mount them. Hey... I like to repurpose things

And just to add: I buy the 12v LEDs with a built in resistor. I'm on 3S power so I can run straight off the battery or esc (the LEDs will run off 6v up to 15v) I haven't attempted to do working reverse, brake, or turn signal lights yet

There will be a new contest starting soon for October. Heres a link from Sept.

There ARE rules!!!

Just read thru them at the top and make sure your pic is within the guidelines before you submit.

GOOD LUCK!!! 🤞👍😁

Nitro fuel and a cotton ball or qtip removes rc paint.

Does anyone know a simple method to have working reverse, brake, or turn signals? Without using any premade kits. I wanna wire em myself. Would those wireless add-on switch models work for that?
Reverse i used to solder wires from the brushed motor lead to the led. Red to black and black to red. When you reverse it steals some power to the led.

The old school brake lights I used a rocker or roller switch. On a nitro or electric with servo added it would move the horn and light it up. Only issue is reverse on an electric would have the brake lit uo when reversing.

The new way is to make a circuit. Maybe look at hey OK! And see the components in the circuit they make?

Turn signals would be either a radio activated switch like below or a rocker switch like above.

Police stribes can be done by a 555 timer if interested.

Has anyone ever tried flip-up headlights like the old school Corvettes or Miata's?
I've seen those years ago wit servos moving paper clips. 🫠🙃 make a lexan housing and t he have metal and plastic micro hinges.

Ill see if I can find it.
