Hey Guys,
I was thinking of cyping the tires on my T-Maxx tires, that is here you cut small slits across the tread, it helps with traction and make the tires last longer since it help keep the temps lower at high speeds at least thats how it works with 1:1 Tires. I have had it done on my tires on my Chevy 4x4 and there was a huge improvement exspecialy on ice, I would imagine in theory it would work in a smaller scale I was wondering if anyone had try this and If anyone could tell me any reason they think this is not a good idea?

Hell no I did it and wow what an improvment it was so worth the time. I think u should do it I have increased traction, I dont have as much wobble and and I clipped it as to were I shaved off some weight. It is a much better alterenative then buying new tires it u have a pair of them lying around.

Cool I figured it would work awesome but just thought I would ask to see if anyone had actually tried it. It was a huge improvment on my Chevy :) so I figured why not my Maxx lol

If you're talking about the stock TMaxx tires with the heavy V chevrons, yes, cutting grooves around the tires through the Vs makes a big difference. Instead of hard Vs, you have Chunks that can now move independently. It makes a big difference in handling.

Yeah I mean the stock tires :)

Cool I'm going to try it out :)

Sounds like a good idea, I haven't done it but I've seen a few done and it does make a difference.

Measure and mark around the tread, then groove it with a dremmel cutting wheel. Go for it.

Woo hoo it will give me a reason to use my Dremel I havent used it in a while :) I was thinking of using a hobby knife lol would have take forever!!

I used a dremal on my tires took just a few secounds to cut. But be careful dont go to far and after my experiance do it out side

Yeah I bet must smell real nice rubber melting and smoke going every where lol. I would also suggest anyone who reads this thread and is thinking of doing this use saftey glasses!!!!! Dremels turn at extremely high rpm,s and will throw debre everywhere>

The smell woke me up pretty quick and good point use glasses I started to cut and remembered I hade no glasses flipped them on and I was fine for a bit
another thing that helped me was a white breathing mask they can be found at most home centers u just place it over your mouth and nose.Their is nothing worse then a mouth full of rubber particles and black boggys I am not joking they were black
