Thanks for the kind words... I've been doing the custom anodizing for a couple of years. These are the colors I do most of the time...

Good color selection.
Are you doing standard / hard or both?

I wasn't able to find an ano that I liked so I went with a powder coat on my Baja SS.
Either way its great to be able to customize our rigs.

I recall reading in XRC that in hard anodizing ( type II ) the colors are limited. The olor selection you have is pretty dang nice for regular anodizing. Just curious, do you do it at home as a hobby or a living? Great looking stuff you did.

Ed, Powder coating IMO is stronger than anodizing. Its easier to wipe down. The SS looks great but the Revo looks just awesome. Your work?

I moved the thread here so it would get maximum exposure for all those that do custom rides.
It's beautiful work, your's too Ed.

Give me some info on home anodizing.. cost and availability.

You can home ano but your using a lot of chemicals.
For what most of us would do, its cheaper and better quality just to go have it done.

A typical ship will charge from 40.00-80.00 per rack. A normal RC is less then a rack and the Baja will be 1 rack as well. This price includes stripping and ano.

You are a little confused in your terminology, Hard anodizing is type III and type III will not color, it will be a dark grey or black. Type II is colorable and can be made any color you can come up with a dye to do it...

just wondering if you do ano and how much and how long does it take please pm me and lewt me know i might want my prospec in gold?
Thanx John

Beautiful choice of colors. On the pic above, I have those 2 gold pieces rattling around in one of my parts boxes, and I also have the cylinder head and piston. Mine is over 30 years old, and the .049 Cox Golden Bee was THE thing to have. For those that haven't seen one of these little airplane engines, that's the block, and the fuel tank that holds everything together and also mounts the engine to the firewall.

I usually price out individual jobs on piece cont.... shoot me a email @
[email protected] me a piece count and an idea of what I'm working on. And the return shipping zipcode...Thanks
