Designed by my buddy Mike and I using AI to make a rendering I got a pretty sweet livery! Finally got around to putting it on and it’s looking awesome! Can’t believe the difference it has made. Really enjoying the customization on these drift RCs!

Ok, how did you do that exactly?
Yeah me too! I've got a custom wrap I want made and I need to know where to find it! More specifically, how did you print it out, thats the million dollar question I'm trying to answer for my project
Unfortunately I can really only speak for the AI side of it and that’s basically just uploading a photo of the body and have AI start the design and you can just make edits from there how you want it. My buddy Mike and I both came up with some renderings and just mixed them together a bit. Putting it on, this livery wasn’t really designed to line up exactly with any car necessarily. Once we got the design I wanted we sent a photo to our other guy in LA so he could print it out on vinyl for me as well as cut everything then ship it out to me.As for as how that process goes, I am not sure.
This is the rendering we used to get the final design:

ChatGPT! You can upload the picture of the car and describe the livery or you can upload a livery example and tell it to create a new livery on your car based on that one.

I've been actively using it for a few weeks to help my dad design his kitchen and see what x cabinets in x color look like in his exact space. Pretty awesome tool!

So then what was the guy in LA that printed it? Does he ship goods to the States?

I got the AI part. I was more curious how it went from there to your car. So when your guy sends it to you, it's individual decals? I need a damn vinyl cutter 😍

ChatGPT is a good one, I personally use Gemini but all are essentially the same at the end of the day.

It’s truly a great tool when used properly. Without it, I definitely would’ve struggled finding a design I liked!

Yeah, I sent the final rendering to the guy that prints vinyl/livery. For certain liveries he would have to find a file or somehow design certain shapes/dimensions but I’m not exactly sure how that works so don’t quote me on it lol. All I know is I was lucky enough he already had lightning bolts in a file and I didn’t have to pay extra for that. Once printed he will individually cut them out for you for an extra fee (which I did because I’m to impatient for that). Then he ships em out for you to install! At your own leisure

Yes he ships all throughout the states. Check out @chaosdesigns_ on instagram!
So did you get ChatGPT to create a layout for him to print? Or did you just show him the renderings of the livery on the car?

Ok. I kinda get it now. So you just gave him the ChatGPT rendition you liked and he threw that together. Got it. I need a vinyl cutter lol.

Exactly. Except I used Gemini AI not ChatGPT is the only difference. I sent him over the final rendition that I liked and he took it from there! Definitely may be worth getting a vinyl cutter lol

What is really cool, and I used to do this kinda stuff, when I created skins for cars in a game, as well as 3d models in a first person shooter - With 3d scanning technology getting better and cheaper, right now it would be fairly easy to scan your car's body, go into blender and create a 3d model of that scan, then design your livery on a flat sheet in Illustrator to "skin" that model with your decals. You just create a decal sheet, with all your designs and logos, then chop the individual decals up and export them as individual images. From there you import those into Blender and stick them on the 3d model, which you could slide around on the car in 3d, rotate them, mirror them about the centerline of the car, etc. Place them where you want. And this part I am speculating, but I bet money Blender can then export that skin as a flat sheet after you define a few things. Then you just take that back into Illustrator and slice that into a full wrap, that perfectly fits the car. It sounds complicated. But I guarantee you it's not for someone that knows Illustrator and Blender.
