My bro and I were rippin it up today. Somehow we were beside eachother and my truck collided with his, next thing I notice is truck goin full speed at a fence 50yrds away and I had no control f it. It smoked the fence, did a 180 and headed at me full bore. I got ready to try catch it but it flew out my hands, my bro and I scrambled to get it as it tumbled at full throttle. He managed to snag the fuel line to the carb and it shut off. When It turned at me and started comin I guess I threw my transmitter on the ground and it broke in half. A further inspection revealed that my carb shifted causing it to WOT. So I managed to tape up my reciever and it still works! No damage to my truck other than my messed up carb. Had to share my story!!

Your lucky, could of been much worst. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry man but thats funny as hell.... And not because it was you, but because i was jumping one time and my neighbor try to catch mine in mid air and it just looked funny to me. (HUH i guess you had to be there ) lmao.

happend to me when i just started with nitro. I was such a noob. i has my transmitter off, and i fired up the truck when suddenly it flew outta my hands straight for a fence, i started running after it and it eventually crashed into the fence snapping the front bumper. After wards, i thought to myself, why the hell didnt i just turn on the transmitterr!
lol me being an idiot.

My shining moment......My first good radio system back in the day....An Airtrinics MX-3, I was scrolling through the TX menu with the truck running. I got the bright idea to reverse my throttle servo....WIDE ASS OPEN instantly! Straight into the neighbors fence and dug all 4 tires into the ground all the way to the chassis! Besides my pride being hurt the only damage was a roasted slipper/spur and of course one burnt finger from plugging the stinger.

Honestly my XL just did that exact same thing today. I was just driving at the local high school track and I jumped it and then it just took off and nothing I can do. Hit a tree did a back flip, then hit a fence went on 2 wheels and just took off straight into the woods. Truck isn't damaged at all but didn't really look into why the hell it did it.

Any clue what it could have been that caused it before I dig into it tonight?

Poor radio signal, weak batteries....a lot of causes for that. Best thing to do is buy a 2.4 ghz radio system with a built in failsafe. You have a 600 dollar truck.....why trust it to a 10 dollar AM radio with no failsafe? A good radio pays for itself in the long run, 10X over.
