Well i was out driven the storm around and noticed when i hard excellarate there is this grinding noise. Smae thing when i stop. So i inspected it and nothing. Well my one way was slipping so i took apart the engine to wipe it off. #1 the pull start on the stock storm is not sealed so when i pulled it off........ BOING. Well after that i get into the engine to find a few abnormal cracks in the con rod here in there and the pistons sleve torn to hell. New piston sleeve time or new engine time. I'm looking at the new p5, ws7 2, or sirio .21. Well just thought i would share my experince with everyone.

if you don't have a lot of money you can get your p/s pinched and just buy a new conrod, or get a spankin new engine. sounds like you got lots of money, so my vote is for an rb engine

I have been savin for a new engine for a while and now i need it.

i will go with the xtm so i can fix my savage.

You will not be disappointed. The XTM 24.7 is the easiest engine I have ever broken in and has the most torque I have ever seen in a nitro engine. All with a 130$ price tag, IMO best bang for your buck in a nitro engine. Good luck, if you have any questions about it just PM me.

Plenty of money=RB mill

Short on cash= XTM 24.7

Yeah but if he plans to race ever most places will not allow anything but a .21. There are some great entry level RB's, Rossi's and Sirios, and OS's so shop around a little and you don't have to get a $300+ engine first off.

not racing the storm. I need a little more prctice and buld time. So the xtm is okay. Thanks for the info humbolt.

Nice to know about the pull start. I just got a very early Christmas present from the wife, a new GS Storm. How did you like the stock engine? I plan on racing mine form time to time, thats why I went with the storm over the X-terminator. But you can't go wrong with the 24.7,everything I have read on it is great.

I'm not a racer so I went with the X-Terminator. There is no lhs or track within an hour of me so I just bash around the yard. Congrats on the storm...I never get any early christmas presents...
