Well, one thing it will do is suck alot of raw fuel into the engine. Then, no matter how much ARO you use, it'll still be loaded with raw fuel.
Another thing, are they careful when taking the filter off? If there's any dirt or grit on the elbow or around the inlet, that dirt might get sucked into the engine.
IMO, I would never shut an engine off like that.
Pinching the fuel line and letting it idle itself dry is best.
If you can get your boot on the flywheel, stop it like that. that's the next best way.
Plugging the exhaust tip is the last way that I stop a mill.
But I never pull the filter off while it's running. That's just begging for problems.
