Carburetors! That's my first question I've read some about how people don't like the carburetor on the 3.3 trx. Any resin why? And What are our options for a new BETTER carb? Second after breaking in my revo 3.3 I actually started you know driving it like I stole it. lol. And realized It wasn't shifting into second very well. So I was going to finish up the tank I had and by then noticed my slipper clutch was loose so I tightened up and shifts fine into second gear. Why is that? If my slipper clutch was loose wouldn't it shift darn near imediatly? Also any good Shocks for the revo. Id like to get some aftermarket ones. Ones that are better than stock. And my third question (for now) is about metal parts. I know eventually I'm going to need some metal parts on my revo. Whats a good brand? It's sad cause all my LHS sells is Integy. Which I don't like. I started to buy that stuff for my little rc18 and quickly took it off and put plastic ones back on. Then started putting some on my tmaxx I sold and honestly that's part of the resin why I sold it was them stupid metal parts. They seem to not fit well. Same with the shocks I REALLY didn't like those integy piggy back shocks they sealed like crap. So yeah any tips on aftermarket parts metal or not. Thanks for reading and your help if you offer it.

The shifting is done with a centrifugal cog inside the transmission, so a slipping clutch will only raise the engine RPM without transferring it into the trans.

DON'T BUY INTEGY!!!!!

Look into RPM Parts for replacements.

Yes dont buy Integy ....I did and Ill say I'm very sorry I did;-except for my revo shocks....;-so far[*knocks on wood*]......The stuffs only good for shelf queens that will never get used..

The slipper clutch is what saves the rest of your driveline from the load shock of jumps ...When the trans goes to shift into second it will put a lag on the engine and if the slipper is too loose it cannot shift with the extra load coupled to alot of slip and no grip

The plastic composite TRX carbs are crappy but descent if sealed up right... The plastic composite body fuel inlet threads are fragile and cannot be truly torqued enough to totally seal from airleaks without stressing them...Theres methods that you can use to insure a good seal to make the TRX carb work really well with the engine w/o having to find and buy a new one...I've never replaced the carb;-I just properly sealed them to work better so I would not have a recommendation for a different/ proper carb but I do know the OS.18 carbs will not fit..

thanks for that explanation rolex. And What about temperature? 270 degrees is optimum performance right? If I'm using a temp gun where EXACTLY do I want to point the laser to get the temp reading?

Point the laser at the glowplug from the top, down. 270 is the temp limit in the manual (i'm pretty sure). Optimal performance for my 3.3 was usually close to that, like 250-260.
