I just bought a new sportmaxx and already upgraded to a two speed. I bought a mutant cooling head for the 2.5, was this a good idea?

umm.. who makes the head? are you talkin about the hardcore one? if you are absolutley, its an excellent cooling head!!:breakdown

yea i went and got the mutant cooling head 2 days ago i put it on and it looks bad as he!! i havnt got to try it out yet do to the rain but i heard its the best you can get for your t-maxx how much did you pay for your cooling head i payed 60$

39.99 it wasn't bad at all...i also got a temp gauge, but not the one that loops into the motor, got more than one car. Did you get the silver one?

umm.. you should probaly think about upgrading your steering servo, front bulk heads, and definately a fail safe, cheap insurance for your not so cheap truck.

thanks alot...these things kick ass! I'm completely ate up with it. Makes it hard to stay focused on college homework. When painting new bodies, do you paint the underside of the body or the top.? Just trying to avoid scratches

first you wash the under side of the body, then you put in your paint masks (if your using them) ,then you spray your collors its that simple!

oh ya i totaly didnt answer your question. you can paint the outside but your not supose to its supose to be inside to avoid scracthing cause these things roll alot!

witch aluminum parts??

if you plan on running everything aluminum, such as a-arms, bulkheads, suspension towers and body mounts id say your gonna have a head ache soon!!

oops did a double take!!

i dont think that i am going to worry about doing anything to it...besides my ship hasnt came in and i dont have the money to throw alluminum parts at it...Ill stick to stock...besides thats what made maxx trucks what they are

i got the blue mutant head but have you ran with the your mutant cooling head have you seen any differences.and if you did what do you see change. the guy at the hobby store said i may need to richen it up but i dont knot know.:marshall:

I still havent got it installed yet..My guys told me that it would cool it off about 15 degreees but I wouldnt have to do anything to the HSN or IN. Let me know.

I am using a Hardcore Mutant head on the OS CVX 15 Hyper in my maxx, it dropped my running temps considerably more than 15 degrees too. Just don't use it as a crutch for impropper tuning, make sure you still see a nice stream of blue smoke while running.
