hi i am brand new to the hobbie and just got a t-maxx for christmas and i love it!! i accidentally broke 1 cooling head screw just 4 tanks after break in and was wondering if running it before i got the replacement would harm my t-maxx because i really want to drive it but dont want to hurt it. thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
sup, glad to see people getting into the hobby. first off, may i ask how u broke the screw off?? i havent yet broken a screw and i have had mine for over 4 years.

it shouldnt hurt it just as long as your other 3 screws are tightened down tight, and when it starts it isnt leaking gas. but still i would try and get a replace ment as soon as possible just incase. besides they dont cost much anyways

Yes, I too would love to know how it broke. Those screws seem very protected. If you do decide to run it the way it is, and you start making carb adjustments, keep in mind that it might because of a rich or lean condition that has been created by this broken screw. I don't know what the compression ration is on these nitro engines. Just like SuperMaxx97 said, watch for any fuel blow-by and keep a close eye on the temp. Better yet, just spend the buck or two and replace it.
 
thanks super maxx and military maxx for the help i thought i mite have gotten some gritt inside and ontop of the piston so i wanted to take the cooling head off to rinse it off with WD 40 i got the piston all cleaned but when i was putting the cooling head back on one of the screws broke right at the top i almost had a heart attack but lickily using pliers i got the bottom half of the screw out.

PS it is a new maxx so it has 5 screws holding the cooling head on

HEY GUYS I BROKE HALF OF MY COOLING HEAD ON MY T-MAXX AND I STILL RUN IT BUT NOT AS LONG AS I USUALLY DO SO IT WONT GET SO HOT BUT I'm GOIN OT CHANGE THE COOLING HEAD ANY SUGESTIONS ON WHAT KINDA COOLING HEAD I SHOULD GET CAUSE I'm GOIN OT GET ONE SOON AND NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD GET
 
DO NOT WRITE IN CAPS IT CONSIDERED YELLING AND IS VERY ANNOYING

the mutant cooling head is pritty nice or the nova head
 
thanx for tellin me that domination sorry for the all caps didnt mean to "annoy" you but thatnx for the information I'm goin to get the nova cooling head the mutant looks like somethin from outer space and looks to complicated tell if you think different
