i have one of the first t-maxxes and i did the 2.5 conversion and i have a o.s. .18tm on it and I'm wondering about putting a extended chassis on it but not wanthing to use the newer style bulkheads because i have alluminum ones on mine allread. i saw a extended chassis on towerhobbies thats made by traxxas that from what i understook would work with the older stuff.... any sugestions or ideas will help much thanks bryce btw I'm new to this site

A revo-spec tranny, diffs, shafts, and steering bellcrank. You should have what is basically a 4908 extended maxx.
 
ok well what about all the suspention? isint the 3.3 arms wider than the 2.5 arms? will those bolt up to the older style bulkheads? just looking to pretty much make mine just like a 3.3 besides the trans for now then gonna upgrade trans when mine blows up
 
I also have a orignial t maxx that i put 3.3 arm and 3.3 bulks this is what u need know.

you can use your alum 1st gen bulks, i believe the only difference is you can't run the revo style diffs that the 3.3 comes with.

3.3 2.5 arms are the same, what makes the 3.3 wider is the axle carriers.

So if u want to use your stock axle carriers and the wide arms all u will need is the 2.5 turnbuckles due to the 3.3 turnbuckles are too long to use with the early axle carriers.

If you are planning on buying the traxxas 4908 chassis to extend your tmaxx that will work due to they extended the front half of the chassis not the rear like many of the aftermarket chassis do.

Also it would be a good idea to do the forward only conversion on the transmission, makes it a lot stronger.

So can I use thr 3.3 carriers and axles with 2.5 arms and diffs? And what will I do for the center shafts comming off the trans and I allready did the foc and I was wondering about putting a newer style break on my old trans ??
 
You'll need the 4908 driveshafts, knuckles(carriers), and turn buckles. 2.5, 2.5r and 3.3 a-arms are all the same length. Rpm a-arms are recommended for their strength. If you wanted to stay with the original chassis, you could keep your current break setup and run rear 4908 center shafts on both the front and rear of your rig. They're cheap and will hold up to the O.S. well. Just an idea for ya. Somebody will chime in with a direct answer to your last question I'm sure.
 
so the 3.3 axles and carriers will work on my factory diffs?
