Hi all

I was just thinking about converting my savage x to xl.
What will i need apart from a new engine.
How much will it be.???

Thanks:D

You wont need a new engine..

Your going to need the longer TVPs, the longer dog bones, and if you want the width your going to need to upgrade your diff cups, axles and pick up the extended stub axles.

You could pick everything up for probably right around $40 off of ebay.
I built an XL from pieces and did not see the need for the extended stub axles. However i do have the XL spec axles and diff cups with the standard width stub axles.
Will your upgrading, if you dont already have them, pick up a set of BP diffs and a set of Big Bore shocks from the Flux. The diffs are going to run you about $60-$70
for the pair, and the shocks can be had for about $40.

what are diffs???

What about a engine i want it looking like a propper xl???:D

Differentials.

You will be fine with the stock X Diffs, but i recommend upgrading to the BP Diffs which can be found in the Flux trucks, i think HPI is putting them in the newer XL's i think, I'm not sure.

Engine wise, i suggest either the LRP .28, .30 or the Picco .28.

the 5.9 aint a good engine anyway i would stick with the 4.6 or get a force 32 engine .had nothing but problems with my 5.9 even my local hobby shop could not get it going.

What about this engine

Hong Nor 5.9cc Force R36 Pullstart Engine

how do i get the width???

What do diffs do??

What are they?
