I bought my savage used and have been having problems with my motor. I think that I might be in trouble with the carb. When I go to set my carb back to the factory specs, I have trouble with my lsn. When i turn it in till it stops it actully doesn't. It keeps turning in until the mid nadjustment start backing out of the back and messing that adjustment up. What happened to this engine did the guy before me strip the needle and I will never get it adjusted.

Ok buddy dont worry I did the same thing. What happened is the LSN seats into the MSN. What you have to do is reset the MSN to factory so turn it in til it stops. Then back it out 3 1/4 turns basically til it is flush. Then turn the LSN in until the MSN starts to move. That is fully closed, then back it out to factory 3 1/2 turns. And that should be it. HSN is also 3 1/2 turns.. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

One other thing to check. How easy is it to turn the MSN? If it's real easy (sounds like it to me) then the O-rings may be shot in the MSN. For that matter, how easy is it to turn the LSN and HSN needles? If they're real easy to turn, you'll never get it tuned, since the engine vibrations tend to loosen just about anything that resembles a bolt.

Whitt....
