Hey guys,

Just wanted your opinion on monitors. I have been building a new system, and am going to go with dual displays. I have gotten used to the Dell 24" displays my parents use, and was going to go with two of those, but then looked at the price. Roughly $700 per. Then, I saw that Dell came out with the 22" that were only like $285 or so, and thought hell, I guess I'll try em. Anyone have any other suggestions or opinions? :celebrate2:

I saw some 21" Flat panels at Frys and at Office depot for about 215. That was about 2 weeks ago. Not sure about the view resolution. I think mainly for space and then the quality.

Only problem I see with these 22"ers is they only have one input (DVI-D). My plan was to run dual displays for the comp, then be able to switch over and play 360 or ps3 on either of them. I guess all i need is a switch type thing.

Jon, I have seen the 21"s at frys. Frys, at least here, is way overpriced.

Hmm... I guess for gaming I would be picky too. I am not a gaming freak. I just like to see things clear.

Well I just got a Samsung 22in widescreen and I love it. I paid like 399 canadian for it on boxing day. It has digital and analog inputs. I'm not sure if you can switch back and forth between the two. Playing Battlefield 2142 looks freakin cool though.

VIEWSONIC 23" ers at COSTCO....300 ish. Nice LCDS and I love viewsonics support and quality......I am viewing this on 19" LCD one of several of thiers I own. Most likley the guts in the Dell gear.

These are high speed 5 miliseconds refresh ...so good for gaming as well.

I dunno. Its such a hard choice. I love the Dell 24" displays. I may go ahead and get one, then get another soon after my wallet recovers. I like the resolution, and the added bonus of multiple inputs. Keep the comments coming, as I haven't made a decision yet.

I have to ask so excuse my ignorance, but what is boxing day in Canada?

I was going to ask the same thing.

I did look at the viewsonics. And looked again at the dell 22". I found out the the dell 22" has vga and dvi inputs. I ordered up 2 of em!

Oh yeah I forgot you might not know what that is ..Its a Canadian thing...December 26th lots of the big stores have huge sales. Some people start lining up at noon on x-mas day for the best deals .

I used to work for Dell and I have to admit that they do make really good displays. I currently am using a :shudder: Gateway 19" widescreen at home and it is really sharp. I only paid about $250 at Best Buy.

Well, just to update this thing... I set up one of the monitors a while back, and it would not display in the advertised resolution... Couldn't get it to do it no matter what. Fine, it didn't really matter. I finally set my computer up where it is going to stay, and set up these two monitors. I had one hell of a time to get the dual display setup working, and I finally figured out why. You cannot have SLI enabled with dual displays. Ok, now on to the resolution problem... Still couldn't get either to display in the recommended 1680x1050 resolution. So, I finally ended up using the VGA cables, with the dvi adapter in the video card... Worked flawlessly.

Awesome monitors. Great response time, excellent picture, and great multitasking (via the dual display). And I got my 7.1 surround sound setup too. Now just waiting on some parts to hook up the 360 and PS3 to these things, and the speakers, and I'm ready to rock!
