Do you want a long winded in-depth answer or a short one ?

Short version =

composite carbs attract less heat.
Less heat = cooler fuel being drawn in.
cooler fuel = less likelihood of vapourisation
less vapourisation = easier tuning.
Easier tuning = more consistent tuning.

Same applies (in a smaaaalll way to the influx of air)

just my experience and my :2cents: worth for you.
 
I agree. Unless the al. carb has a good heatshield in place like O.S. engines usually do.
