RC Driving Style
  1. Bashing
Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on the forum. I race motocross and was riding at Milestone Mx a few weeks ago and saw the RC car tracks and peopled riving there trucks. Thsi looked really fun and the technology of the cars amazed me, as my only experience has been with cheap monster trucks never any "real" rc vehicles. Anyways i have been doing some resaerch on the internet and found out about Short course trucks. These seem very cool to me as its kind of like MX.

I know this is what i want to do but i have a few questions.

1. How hard is to start driving these vehicles in genral (i woudnt race for a while)

2. I really like the Traxxas Slash it comes in 2wd and 4wd versions. Which would be better? and Does it make a difference as far as racing the truck once i get good with it?

3. Is the slash a good first truck?
Is the Traxxas slash a vehicle i could eventually race?

4. Is there a better RTR short course truck than the slash for the same price or less?

Sorry about the long post
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!!!

1. Not bad - just need some practice and a little eye to hand coordination.

2. Really personal preference. 4wd is easier to handle IMO. Only difference for racing is really which class you'll be in.

3. IMO,yes and yes

4 Debatable, there are several out there that are priced near the same. I have no regrets getting the Slash for my son.

And Welcome to RCSCT!

Thanks I really like the slash thats probably what i will get

How do i go about getting involved in racing?

To get into racing you have to find a nearby track that does SC racing. Once you find a track, figure out whichever day(s) they race on, and go down on that day and you just sign up to race, and then you race. I have a Slash 4x4 and my first race was with it this past sunday, on the qualifier I came in 2nd, the B-Main i came in 2nd, and the A-Main I came in 1st!! I drove the truck one time before that at my house, so I think you should do pretty good. Good Luck! and welcome to RCSCT!!

OK cool thanks for the help everyone i still need to decide whether to get the 2wd or 4wd slash which do you think would be best for what I want to do.

well for you first sc truck, and becoming a first time r/c racer I would get the 4x4 if you have the money. I have drove some 2wds on the track and it is a lot harder to drive when you are racing. I love my PE and wouldnt trade it for anything
