How does the stock .15 Associated engine compare to the O.S. .18 CV-RX (S) w/11J Rotary Carb ? I just ordered it because it's supposed to be a direct drop engine. It is a lot better? I can't find any actual specs for the stock .15 engine. Just curious...How fast should i be able to get this bad boy with the new engine and a 17tooth clutchbell and stock rear gear..66tooth i think...whatever stock in the rear is on the rc10gt. Just curious...this is my first mod other than the clutch bell :O)

I've heard great things about the os .18 bt never owned one.. i dont think you will be disapointed tough

I believe the stock .15 gt engine was rated at .8hp or somethin... maybe it was 1hp... i dunno, but it was weak. I really didnt like my .15cvrx that i bought for my brother's rustler... its a gutless wonder... that makes me not want to go back to OS.

my friend bought the same exact engine when his .15 got tired...all i have to say is that engine will RIP! we tuned it out one day in the 260 area and gave her a few full speed passes... if i wouldnt have know any better i wouldve though it was bigblock in a touring car lol! and not to mention i love os engines they have to be by far the best brand of engines I've ever used.

Personally, I like the AE 15 engine that came with the wifes GT. I've run circles around O.S. 15's with it, but I raced it against another GT with the O.S. 18 with the same gearing and it smoked me. LOL I've been a fan of O.S. engines since I started racing nitro over 10 years ago, and I'll recommend an O.S. to anyone who's looking to upgrade an engine.

thanks for the feedback...one other question..since i'm new to this...currently my gear ratio is 10:09:1...66 tooth spur and 17 tooth clutch bell. NOw...i also have a Rc10 ds that has a 57 tooth spur. If i could get that to fit on the rc10gt..just for kicks until my new motor comes in...it should lower my final drive ratio to around 8.7 or so improving my top end..this wouldn't strain the engine or anything would it? I dont want to damage the gt...just curious...you guys know way more than me.

My friend and i have run 24/54 on the stock engines, and it will push the car around, FAST! It is super slow take off, but it does go fast.

right on..i may give it a shot then...just for kicks till the new engine arrives.
