Man do I ever want one of those.

Steve

How much did it end up costing you?

Steve

$220 out the door of my lhs. You can find them online for $199 but I like to support the local boy as much as he pisses me off sometimes, but you can't please all the people all the time. I figured by the time tax and shipping I would have paid at least $220 online.

I wonder if I should just put a 1/8 scale air filter on it.

 Nice. You know what blows though, is when the Sirio pipe first came out they sold it for like $14.95 at all the LHS. Now it's what $40+. Oh well.

yeah I got stuck with the $44 bucks for it. ouch. I can't say enough about Sirio stuff though! Its awesome. They are some of the best engines.

I was pissed because my dumb ass didn't pick one up at the time. I thought it was all a gimmick. Different companies were trying to put out pipes for the 2.5. Should of trusted the Sirio name.

So Sirio is a good company? I always thought they were a bit overpriced. Like on the Sirio .18 for the T-Maxx.

Steve

That is the Sirio .18 for the Maxx and yes the engines a on average twice as much as Tiwanese engines or Japanese engines, but all european engines are. With the Sirio's all I can tell you is you get what you pay for.

Update on progress

This is one smokin engine:smoke:

Howdy,
This is my first post to the forum! I've got the Sirio .18 (8 port) in my first gen T-maxx. It's a great engine. The bottom end of the engine isn't where this engine shines (it's comparable to my proted out .15 pro), it's the top-end where the real difference is. The engine SCREAMS! My buddy has a Savage with the stock .21 and I can beat him in a race all day long.
Everyone one always wonders about the cost of these conversions...so here's about what I spent:

Engine- $199.
2.5 conversion kit - $45
air filter - $20
flywheel nut - $0.44 (home depot special-- 7mm if you need one)
one way bearing - $20
pullstart - $20
plus some odds and ends i can't think of now.....in the end i spent just under $400....a lot more than i thought when I started! but, it's a great engine and I'd reccomend it to anyone.

I just yesterday got my first gallon of fuel through a T-Maxx with the original TRX25 engine. I understand I can expect a rebuild after three gallons.

I've only heard good about Sirio engines.

Humboldt, you're gonna make me go out and buy one of those things at rebuild time. And what is that first picture in your first post. Does the engine come with a bag? Is that a marketing strategy like "an engine with so much balls, we had to give it a sack"?

That IS lookin' good, Humboldt.

The engine does have so much balls they did package it with a sac. SO heres a quickie as I will post more when time allows. I decided not to race this weekend and break in the Sirio .18. Now I really wanted to go race my 1/8 this weekend and take my Maxx to the track and show it off, but the track is not a place to be breaking in a brand new engine for many reasons. I have 7 tanks through it. The engine is everything I expected from a Sirio and a little more. Now Sirio's dont really wake up until about 1 gallon but this this already made me have to adjust my rear suspension so I wasn't doing wheelie's all day. I dont like wheelie's. Part of it might be do to the fact I put a 19t Racer's edge clutchbell on which is way lighter than stock I might add. The engine started on the 3rd pull the first time and I ideled a tank through. I was able to break in for 4 more tank at low RPM's without ever flaming out. Now the piston sleeve fit is not as tight as the Sirio .21 I just bough but it is a racing engine and this is not. The tolerance on the .21 are just SO MUCH more tight. More to come soon. Also will be doing a little write up on my new RRP 72 tooth slipper clutch that is da BOMB!

Update only glow plug I had left was a cold turbo (wrong plug) and a small crack in my gas tank, bent my header, all in all it was a good time.:wasted:
