anyone else used one of these yet? I've been wanting one for awhile and finally got one. boy this thing comes in handy when you nee it most. no more waiting for things to heat up.

My dad got one for Christmas and has yet to use it lol. For some reason he's like that, we bought him a cordless dremmel tool for his birthday like 2 years ago, and he hasn't even opened it...it still has the little plastic straps around it, lol.

nitehawk, how much and what brand?

cvec, mail me the dremel, I'll use it.

NO! I NEED IT! Lol, I still need to mod my C-hubs or w/e on my savage... And, I know he'll open it if I need it...

I got the cold heat thing. I was going to use it on my electrics since i do a lot of soldering and desoldering. The concept it great but fails for use with real R/C's. You have to use really thin gauge solder to get it to flow like the add. I sent mine back the next day. It wasn't even worth being the paper weight it should be.

When I called up customer services and told them I'm sending it back, they asked why. I told them the exact uses i need it for and they referred back to the "great for remote control hobby's" line from the infomercial. I told them, it ain't worth poop to a true r/c hobbyist after arguing with them. What made it worse is that I could hear her flipping through the pages of a script ... told her, put the script away, I'm sending this thing back. The add said, no questions asked if returned and not satisfied. Either take it back or I'll call better business bureau and file a complaint. They took it back.

Biggest waste of time.

cool, that helps clear things up on what to expcet from it.. thanks for the input guys.. the only thing I've used it on so far was soldering the negative tab back on my e-z start. i was using 60% tin and 40% lead solder(only thing i had at the time) a little heavy solder for the gun i guess. no more solder i do anyway, it serves my needs so far.. thanks again

i gave $33.10 after S/H its cheaper if you dont get the wire strippers and all the other stuff they want you to get with it.

so why not just use a higher gauge (thinner) of wire ? ps I know nothing about soldering

It took me a while to figure out soldering on heavy 12 ga motor wire and deans connectors. The best thing is a 100 watt soldering gun, the big kind with a trigger switch. I also have a reglar 25 watt soldering iron for small stuff. The lowest melting point solder is 63/37, and is called 'electronics solder'.
