There was a guy in near my old home town that had one of those - pretty cool lil cars. Lots of work though! If you get one post pictures of the progess and finished product.

its probably not original, they were all used for racing and beat to hell. the ones that survived are in museums and never touched and especially not driven.

my brothers friend and his dad built one and it turned out really nice. its a '69 cobra r replica. he used a late 80's 5.0 mustang as a donor.....brakes, suspension, engine etc. but the chassis and the body were both from the kit. they painted it black with metallic purple stripes....sweet! it really looks good and if your gonna do one the biggest thing is to go slow and do things right.

bkunar that may be the one we might build, you can use a 1987-93 as a donar car and take parts off the donor car and I highly doubt its an original because an original will run you close to 200 G's.

not all thre originals were raced trust me on this i know I've seen so many originals its not even funny but if its original he might drive it once a month to make sure itll run look on the wind sheild if its original the guy will want to show it off plain and simple

Heres a great site for replicars, I have a friend who built the same cobra you want to build, awsome cars,, hope ya have fun with it!

I was looking at that one but didn't like the idea of a donor car. I know that that company gives you the option of buying the parts brand new instead of usuing a donor. I prefer the kit from THIS company.

They make their own chassis, use a jaguar's rear suspension wich incorporates the inward brakes and also true knock off wheels as well as a Rolling chassis. Big plus for me was the option for a true 427 sideoiler. There are different levels of kits THEY take to place it together since they've done it many times before. If you and your dad have #1, the garage space ... #2 The mechanical ability and tools ... go ahead and do it.

There are so many companies making these kits. Beware of some of them. There are so many horror stories, but Factory Five and Unique Motorcars are very reliable. I too am in the market to get one of these kits, just not right now since garage space is almost zero here. Hopefully there will be a house in the near future.

I think that kit is kick ass. Dude to be able to have the look of the original AC cobra for a pretty decent price can't be beat. All while on the mustang chassis is a great option as well simply due to the fact that there is so much you sould do with the frame itself. You could make a total salleen package. That would be sick.

I need to win the damn lottery. My all time fav car is the Cobra and I love those kits. It would be nice to tool around town in one and take it to the local race track.

We are also looking at a fully built roller from superperformence which also looked awsome. I was reading about them on a site and one guy said that he has one with a smaller engine and saud his has much better balance then his friends 427 side oiler. I have heard several run and think there is no sound as great as the sound a 427 with those big side pipes. But you have to watch your legs gettin out, if you touch them to those exaust pipes you'll have a nice burn on the back of your leg for a while.

Me and my bro-in-law are buiding a FFR roadster kit. He ordered it with the 3-link suspension and coilovers.
It takes a while to put it together but its fun. If you're mechanically inclined there shouldn't be a problem building it. Tools need to be available. Lots of em.

That sounds awsome, both me and my dad are both very mechanically inclined. Tell me how it works out ie time dificulty hints and what makes it easier.

The book that comes with the kit is actually pretty well documented. And my bro-in-law took the 3 day intruction course in michigan on how to assemble to FFR. So he has more insight into that.

But check out some of the forums or websites on the FF website, there is some good info there.
