RC Driving Style
well today i decided to drive my maxx because of a nice day and ran into a problem after driving. i took off my clutch bell to put a new one on and i saw that the clutch shoes were melted! what will fix this problem? i have been looking at aluminum. if aluminum is good...will someone suggest a company or have any other opinions. I'm running 1/8 scale.

thanks,
tyler

wow, runnin stock sb tmaxx clutch right? Happends quite often.... might as well upgrade to a 1/8th aluminum setup.... unless thats what you are hinting at. I dono the good ones in 1/8th scales, 1/10th is what i know. sorry.

Thats to bad, I have never had any probs with my clutch, You have been doing proper clutch matinence right, like removing the glazing on the shoes and cleaning the cb.

yup it was just yesterday that it did that i dont know if they were cheap stock shoes or what. i may have done something wrong but it seemed perfect to me. any more help or opinions of what kind of clutch i should get?

thanks,
tyler

What is your current engine setup with gearing now?? And, what is the price range?

i am running a 1/8 scale clutch with 15t clutch bell and 65t spur. i am looking at the aluminum three shoe setup on ue's site. is that any good?? i dont really have a price range but i would like to stay under 50.

thanks,
tyler

aluminum will hook up alot better then plastic ,but stay away from the integy 3 shoe for the maxx, cheaply made nd not worth the time to install some ppl like i didnt
just my :2cents:

I would think that UE makes a good clutch. They are not cheap people, and their parts show that every time i look there. Only problem i have with aluminum clutches is they are pretty high matenence, and if you do not maintain them, they will turn for the worst and waste some good money. The Works Power Clutch is a super nice setup, but it is expensive. The carbon shoes will probably grab just as well as aluminum.

if you get the UE get the 3 shoe...unless your LHS carries the 4 shoe clutches......they are hard to get when you need em......I say get the mugen kit w/ the carbon shoes.....aluminum shoes are a lot more maintenance...I take my CB off every day off runnning to debur the edges of the shoes....ad usually end up wrecking a spring or 2 in the process.....the werks one looks nice though...

that's the price range you're lookin at but I'm not sure of the exact model you need...I'd call them to verify what you need exactly....

what is the difference between teflon, red rulon, and carbon??? do some last longer than others??

thanks,
tyler

carbon is what I usually go with in a standard clutch set cause it's the best grip to wear.....teflon will last longer but the engagement will be slower.....rulon...????? never had anything made of that stuff....

oo alright thanks there are alot on ebay for around 60 so i guess i will pick one up there sometime soon.

thanks,
tyler

yeah i was looking at those and ue's but I'm going to go with the werks because from what i hear aluminum is alot of maintenence.

later,
tyler
