after about one gallon with the v-spec i fryed my clutch today in my storm using regular carbon shoes. i want to go with aluminum shoes, but do not know what brand i should get and which springs (.9 1.0 1.1 so on) to get with the shoes for them to work well with my engine. I've got great low-end right now so late engagement and so on wont matter, i jsut want some strong hard bitting shoes and springs that work well with them. thx for any suggestions.

i run my xrays shoes which are a little heavy, with 1.0 springs. try some mugen shoes with either .9 or 1.0 springs. i think you will be ok with the .9's though depending on your track and how slippery it is. i burnt up a set of kyosho carbons using 1.0 springs in under 1/2 a gallon and ill never run them again. my aluminum are wearing great and require less maintainance than everyone complains about.

I'm ordering mugen aluminum shoes along with .9 and 1.0 springs right now. thx alot for the help.

The stock allum. clutch set up in my Prospec is heaps better than the carbo set up I was running in my Lightning. It engages about the same time, mostly due to the 1.0 springs in both, but the allum. Mugen ones seem to lock immediatly, where the carbon ones had a little slip to them. This is on a non-vspec VZB, but I think you will be happy with your choice.
