hi i've got a picco .26 with an alloy clutch and a stock 49tooth spur gear, the problem is that the engine used to wheelie non stop but now it dosen't atall, it just slips and slips the clutch alot so much that some time it just rev's up and dosn't move, i have tightened the slipper clutch down to a reasonable amount and then it started to pick up the front wheels but then stopped after a few pulls of the trigger,

i'm just getting really anoyed as this has happened for aboput 3 weeks non stop, i think it's the clutch it's self as i always keep checking the slipper clutch after every run,

how long do alloy clutch's last? i've had this one for about a gallon now and i think it should last longer than that, i also have medium springs and a 15 tooth vented clutch bell on there.

what maintence needs doing to the alloy clutchs? does mine need servicing? lol

Sounds like you need to replace the pressure plates and the pegs in your slipper clutch. Your alloy clutch should be fine. I'd bet that the pegs in the slipper clutch are just worn out.

Later.

excuase me but i haven't got any pegs! it's a friction pad and it's brand new cause i just put a new spur gear on before i took it out. the slipper clutch is set at 1/2 turn out but i have been told to tighten it all the way down?

Make sure the brass bushing on the slipper clutch has a nice tight fit. I ran into the same problem. The brass bushing was allowing the slipper to slip and not grab even though the tension spring was tight. :2cents:

well instead of the brass bushing in the spur gear i have got a bearing instead? i have been told also to file off the edges on my alloy clutch shoes because they have mushroomed as they call it i thinkover the edge,

i just ditched my nove clutch for some mugen whites my aluminums lasted about 3 tanks before they were so badly mushroomed so i ditched them...but in your case i would try to lock up the slipper and see what happens

i dont know if you have a savage but they dont have pegs like a tmaxx!!!

so is it worth filing the edges off the shoes, or shall i go back to the carbon shoes like the stock ones?
