I had to have my engine sent in for repairs and now I can't remember how the stupid clutch goes back on.

Does anyone have a picture of how it should be?

Thanks
Anthony

I am really not sure which way the clutch is supposed to go on from that. Which of the 4 holes do I use?

If you mount it in the outer holes they engage quicker...mount it in the second holes if you want the engine to rev up higher before it engages....

Ok look at this drawing and imagine you are looking at the engine's fly wheel. Which way should the clutch go on?

picture 2 is the right one

Do the stock shoes have two mounting options now??

With hole 2 in picture 2 I can hear a whole lot more chattering in the tranny as drive engages.

(non-FOC)

Whoa. Wait a minute. When you're looking down on the clutch, the engine should be rotating counter clockwise. So if your picture is looking from the front of the engine, you have to rotation backwards. The shoes should be mounted as in the left picture. That way, when spinning counterclockwise, tail of the shoe will engage.

Does the Spur gear turn down toward the exhaust? Tha would mean that I do have the pictures backwards. REgardless of the pictures which picture best represents the placement for the spin direction.

Like candyman said, you want the tail of it to be engaging... the engine turns counter clock wise, so you want the shoes on like the first picture...

Good catch, Candyman. I missed it too. Looking at the clutch or flywheel from the front, it turns COUNTER clockwise. Backwards from the diagram.
