I agree with Racer and Beason...what part of the bell is it on? Inside, outside, behind the teeth? Is it sliver like it has had rubbing..or it black like the rest? There is a dozen other questions I could ask that would be solved by a picture. I would love to help but hard to tell without seeing it.Then we could say sure normal or wow that sucks....but either way, vague questions lead to incomplete answers.

Ok its on the inside, and i did have a broken clutch shoe also. the groove is perfectly circually and is not very deep. and my cluch bell is silver and so is the groove.
 
your spring was probably rubbing the inside of the bell. sand it with some sandpaper and see if it goes away. it shouldnt hurt anything though.
 
Yeah it is where the spring is at you should have no problem since that area has the groove in the shoe. Like Beason said sand it down and replace the springs. It has happened to me too when the shoes wore down too far. All good though.
