My tmaxx is acting funny. It seems to have to rev up and jump into gear rather than smoothly sliding into gear. I resently put a new clutch bell on it and found the spring to be ridiculously loose. so loose in fact that I could barely fit it into the smaller clutch bell. Would that be the cause of the problem?

Can you just buy a different spring? I guess its not really a problem but I don't want it to jump into gear and break something serious. There is a slipper clutch but it still could do some dammage.
Charlie you got a PM.

sounds like your clutch spring is tto loose....the engine hits peak RPM and the shoes are thrown into the inside of the bell.....get an MIP clutch kit (about 10 bucks) and use that spring......or if you really want the exotic route integy makes a 3 show clutch that is buttery smooth but more expensive.....

I run the aluminum 3 shoe clutch in my aftershock, it has to have a little higher rpms to launch, but once it engages, its fast as hell off the line. I know its the t-maxx thread, but imma be putting the same style system in my 3.3 soon.

they do have metal shoes that are the same as stock. but just aluminum. doesn't wear out so quick and makes for a better take off
