Picked up the last of the parts to finish my 21 conversion and come to find out the cb is not deep enough to fully cover the shoes. So i took it apart and put it back together about 3-4 times just to make sure. It appears that I need a shorter flywheel nut? or a deeper cb? You guys got any suggestion?????????

the nut is from an ofna kit and the stock traxxas does not work. the mill is a 26 outlaw.

i dropped my mill off at the lhs and they are going to take a few mm off of the nut.

anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

On my .21 conversion I did have to cut about 2mm off the crankshaft but I never heard of cutting the nut before. Sure its not made for a 1/8 scale model and your using a 1/10 scale clutch bell?

The clutchbell is the stock Traxxas clutchbell? Then that is your problem. That clutchbell is designed for a .15 engine. They are typically not as deep because they do not need the surface area for a good grab. .21 engines have deeper clutch bells and usually have bigger clutch shoes and a different flywheel/clutch set up to handle the more powerful engine.

I am certain that there are a few owners that could make a decent flywheel, clutch and clutchbell set-up for the Outlaw. I'd ask Christian or Error401. I know they both run the Outlaw in their RCs.

more info needed.. like clutch, clutchbell 1/8 or 1/10 scale.. flywheel brand and type.. what conversion kit are you running?

i seem to learn some things the hard way without asking a lot of questions before hand. tried to set up a bb with a 1/10 scale cb. it looks like i'm going to go ahead and order the fioroni clutch and clutch bell along with the 54 tooth spur gear that they have designed to fit the rrp small double slipper plate. it appears that you can get a very wide range of gear ratios using buggy clutch set ups. i'm hoping that the cb will also fit the ofna 1/8 scale setups.
