ok i got a kinda minor prob with the bell i know you guys can help,i seem to be stripping the bushing on the bell for what reason i dont know,ok heres how it goes i have the washer under the bearing then the bearing then the bell then another bearing then a gold color bushing then a screw, but i keep burning out the bushing it waers out then falls off this is the second one already is there another way to do this?like a buggy set -up please advise??

I have the same problem and just replace the bushing everytime. But if somebody has a better solution, I would also like to know.

The problem is the bushing is made of brass which is very soft metal. As the clutch spins at idle the steel screw wears away the brass. Solution, do away with the brass and replace with a few steel washers that have the same inside and outside diameter, I think they are #8 or # 10 washers from the hardware store. Make sure you leave room for axial travel when the clutch heats up, meaning leave about 1/16 inch play, if the screw is tight against the washers the truck will roll at idle or stall. this solved my problem!

Not sure about parbreaker's solution, but you can always try. I would recommend using two shims, they look like washers and function as such. But they are much finer, almost as thin as regular paper. Put one on both sides of the brass collet, this should solve your problems. Make sure that when you tightent bolt it does not constrict the bell. The bell should still move freely.
