OK guys you have helped me before, now I need help again.
I am putting a picco .26 outlaw in my ofna MBX pro r2, and don't have a clue about a clutch/gearing for it.
clutches, composite? aluminum? 2 shoe 3 shoe 4 shoe?
gears, 13 tooth 14-15-16-18??
narrow bell or standard?
gonna be a basher that mught hit the track after I get this driving thing down a little better, don't know how I can get better, I hit everything. bushes trees houses, no people they are too fast so far lol:hehe:

Will, for the most part buggies come with a 13tooth standard. Good accel, with descent top end. Depending how many rpm your picco will put out you might want to go with a bigger bell.

smaller clutchbell = strong low end, and less top
larger clutchbell = weaker low end, more top end.

rpm=37,000 so I should have no problem turning a 15 tooth? what is your reccomendation on clutches??

I never ran anything larger then a 14th on my buggy. But then again I ran a hyper 8 port, and a xtm 24.7, not the strongest engines by a long shot.

My favorite clutch is Mugen aluminum shoes with 1.1mm springs. If you have the cash I hear the Werks clutch is great, its 4 shoe and is adjustable so you don't have to worry about different kinds of springs.

I would go with a 14, possibly a 15 tooth on the bell. I personally like better accel so I tend to go with smaller bells. I run the standard 13 with .21s, with the .26 I'd go up a tooth, maybe two.

Will, on that buggy I always ran a 17t bell, I didint know anything, but I would def not go that high, it diding have the kick on the track...

I guess it depends on where your bashing.. There have been very few times where I've been out bashing and needed the top end that 17 could give me. I would stick to the 14 as a good pick. Gives you a lot of the bottom end of a 13, but enough top end to make your friends eat dust.

ordered a 14 and a 15 today from T hobbies, might get them for the weekend, now if I can just get the orion to run I will have somthing to race against (ultra comp 2 speed)
