when you clean the filter do you use gasoline or nitro? how often do you clean it?

thanks, mark

Typically I flush my filter with nitro after each day's bashing. Wring it out good and let it dry a bit. then drop it in a ziploc bag with a few drops of filter oil and squish it around real good. Bang. You're done. Pop it back on and you're ready for the next session.

NITRO!!!! Look at the filter. If it is too grimey and the dirt is going towards the center then its time to clean. If you don't have a motorsaver then I recommend getting one.

What he said too.

I wash mine with dish soap and water and rinse it out real well. Then I squueze as much water out of it as possible and let it air dry for a day, then hit it with a blowdryer if it still feels a little damp. Then I do the ziploc bag and filter oil. I also keep a spare set of motorsaver foams cleaned, oiled, and ready to go. The foams are cheap, around $4 for a set of inner and outer filter.

I shoot mine with nitro cleaner from the inside. All of the dirt comes off easily. It is quicker and easier than using Nitro or Dawn. Makes it look like brand new.

i wash mine with dish soap as well let it dry or wring it out, dampen the inner in nitro fuel and put it back together. the nitro fuel has a good amount of oil. in the desert where it's dirty i bash 4-5 days before i have to clean it and only the outside one is dirty. inner will have a little haze of brown. the oil in the nitro is key. i don't buy filter oil.

some people run filters dry w/out a problem. just keep them clean.
