I'm looking into getting my brother & my nephew RC trucks for x-mas, do they can play with me.

My nephew is 5 & I bought him a small toystore grade truck for his birthday in april. Anyways, I told him if he gets good at driving it, I'd get him a bigger one (he get a little bummed out that his won't go over the grass & where I go with my savage). So he keeps driving his truck around when I go over there to show me how good he's gettng- lol

I think if they each had a truck they'd have a lot of fun together, with or without me.

Anyways, I was considering getting them each a new Traxxas stampede - i know there only 2wd, but they look like they'd so OK on dirt & a bit of grass as well. I also like the fact that that the esc is waterproof & that you can set it for only 50% throttle.

After reading a lot here, I think the stampedes would be a good choice. I also considered getting them each a rustler, but I figured it wouldn't be as good off road.

How long a run time would a 3000mah battery give in a stampede ?

Thanks,

imo the Stampede is top heavy and prone to wheely allot. My 9 year old has had his rustler for a couple years now and it does fine in every condition that he runs it in, he has graduated to bigger faster rigs but still loves to bash the rustler. Heck I like to drive the rusty no and again. BTW you will probably get about 30-40 min out of a 3000mah battery the way kids drive. They tend not to drive wot all the time.

I think that a Pede or a rusty are great choices. That 30-40 minute run time is wishful thinking, though. 10-15 minutes would be more likely. I'd look at allbattery.com at some 3800 tenergy's. You can find them on ebay in four packs for around $60 shipped, too.

Thanks guys,

I'm not sure what I'll go wit, mabe the rustler for my nephew - I'll have to look on their website & see if there is a training mode on the esc.
