Well, it seems I will have enough dough to go ahead and purchase a set of wheels/tires for my TMaxx to race this year. I'm definately doing to go with some sort of Proline LPR combo but I'm sort of not sure what would be the best setup. Yeah, I know how this goes, ya'll need as much info as possible so here it goes... First of all my Maxx has a FLM extended chassis so it's wheelbase is substantially longer than stock. Secondly, from what I understand the track where I'll most likely be running is clay and it seems as though the popular tires are hole shots and/or crimefighters. I've already sort of sold myself out of purchasing holeshots because they are less flexible (range of use) and I don't really want to get into having half a dozen different tires, especially if I race elsewhere where it may not be clay. I've already spent waaaay more than I expected to get my 3 rigs ready to race so I want to keep my week to week and month to month costs down. I also want to run M2 compound for longer lasting tread. So anyways, I have the option of standard offset or half offset (wider) in either crimefighters or bow-ties. From what I've read, MT generally have a harder time turning so I thought it makes some sense to try and keep the rear end a little looser with less lateral grip. I was thinking of using Bowties at the rear and Crimefighters at the front. Also, I was considering going with standard offset (narrower) at the front to help steering response but using the wider offset at the rear to help with roll.

What do you guys think?

that all is a good way to look at it, stay narrower up front for sure imo.

Bowtie rear/Crime fighter front will make the car looser.I just tried this last week on my truggy. The offset idea is worth a try.If I had to pick only one offset I would choose the 1/2 for sure.Crimefighters are great tire.Holeshots for blue groove clay,Bowties for wet loamy conditions,Crimes work for both.I ran the MT tires today instead of the LRP and liked the softer foam and wider tire on the rough ungroomed track.Truck did not bounce around as much.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Since MT's are inherently hard to turn (and especially since my Wheelbase is longer), I thought it might be a good idea to try to use a tire combination that would help loosen the truck up on entry. I'm still not sure about the offset difference but I might do it if nobody thinks it would be a horrible idea.
