Yup got to witness the birth of my son (9 months now) in full view. I went from nervous/scared of what my wife is about to go through to...babie, relax, your crushing my hand...OMG that thing can stretch!...to ewww, omg ewww, omg blurrrp, omg WTF is all the white stickey crap all over him??? Then I looked back and it looked like a murder scene.

Wife was a trooper tho. They said push, she pushed. They said breathe, she pushed. They said take a rest, she pushed. From serious labor pain to cutting of the umbilical (I got to do that too...crunchy) 4.5 hours.

Thanks Robriguez!! Yeah it was a bit shocking to say the least... I am sure I will make it through just fine... I hope! LOL I am praying for that boy... but as long as it is healthy I will be just fine. It does look like a murder scene though. I have field dressed a deer many times, but it is somehow different when it is your wife! Gross for sure.

First off, congrats to joey and Lessen. My daughter was born 3months ago, smooth sailing. We went to classes with our son and again with our daughter. (eight years and nothing changed) We were lucky, the movies we watched were from the 80s, god how I love big hair. Don't sweat the coming home part, they spend most of their time sleeping and nursing. Some hospitals have a Daddy Bootcamp you can enroll in if you are nervous or confused. Just think of it like this, if you can build a kit, changing a diaper ain't rocket sceince. They cry for a reason, hungry, gas, need a diaper change, or want to be held. (never had a problem with colic) I'm sure you'll do fine, you will have to wrestle the baby from the grandparents if you want to hold him anyway.

If you're ever left alone with the kid I'll give you this tip:

When the diaper box says 18 to 24 lbs, that's all they'll hold before they need to be changed.
