Man..... went to the first of 5 weeks worth of child birth classes last night. Man what a loooonnnggg two and a half hours that was. Informative..... but very, very feminine. The first thing they showed us was a group of women giving birth, 100% Johnny Bench point of view, uncut and unsensored, and it must have been shot in the 70's... if you know what I mean. They showed us from labor, to baby, to after birth. Then the doctor showed us the after birth in full Biology class detail. You could hear a collective groan from the men in the class as that head popped out. Then when they turned the lights back on every mans eyes in the room were about as big as platters. A real eye opening experience for sure. Next week we get to see the C-section movie!! I'll bring the popcorn!! oye!

HAHA. i remember that movie. one guy in my clas actually yelled 'ouch' when the baby popped out. if you thought the natural birth was graphic, the C-section will blow you away. the best part is when they pull the stomach out. hah

Can't wait man!!!!

we never went to any of those classes. I dont' get it.. they say push, she pushes. I breathe with her to help her keep rythm and that's pretty much it. I'm not sure what is so complicated that requires classes. maybe we missed out but our first one went pretty well, and very fast too.

The natural birth is not that bad...I have seen a lot worse things the only thing that bothered me was when the Dr. grabbed the scissors. I kinda had the feeling of the play ground is already messed-up now why did you have to go do that? Actually I just got to witness a c-section earlier this week. It was not planned that way but if it has to happen better than loosing the wife and kid. Oh by the way I have a son now.....he is three days old....how old does he have to be before I can use him as an excuse to buy toys?

First... Congrats on the new son!!! I am hoping for a boy... really bad.

You don't have to wait.... start buying toys now... he will always grow into them... that is what I tell my wife! LOL

Hey Lessen... I am not real sure about these classes either. They seem to be very informative... My wife wanted to take them... that is all the reason I needed.... know what I mean? :)

Did Monkey get through the class ok?

It is an eye opener isn't it? Been through the classes and witnessed 2 C-sections. That's a perspective on my then-wife that I never really wanted to have. But I have 2 great daughters and I can effectively repress the rest of the ugliness. Whatever happened to just sending them out into the woods to have them?

Monkey made me go by myself.... Something about all you eat night at the Sizzler.

It is an eye opener for damn sure!!! It is almost Alien like watching it all happen.

I think I am more scared now than I was before.....

I just don't know if I am ready for all of this. Some serious second thoughts here. I mean... in a few months I will have a baby in the house!! I don't know anything on how to care of babies... hell I have only held one once!!

The real eye-opener is when you see YOUR baby being delivered in person.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but we just found out this morning that we're having a girl. Yay! I was TOTALLY hoping for one of each. :) I got it perfect now. I get my little girl and she'll have a big brother to watch out for her. Just the way it's supposed to be.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm thinking it's a little late for second thoughts. :surrender
I never went to the class. Did go in with her. Big mirror at the end of the room. Doctor informs me I can watch the birth. Was scared as hell anyway, wasn't going to watch. You'll be ok bro.

Congrats to frickenjoey for a son and to Lessen for a girl.

Making guys watch the old film is actually a form of birth control. After seeing it, you'll think twice about ever going near that thing again. lol

Once the kid comes home, life as you've known it will never be the same.
You'll have a total stranger move in with you, and he'll expect you to feed him, dress him, give up one of your rooms for him, and in return he only gives you crap.
He breaks most of your good stuff, stains everything he touches, barfs on you, your couch and your new carpet, and nobody can stop him.
Eventually he'll stop crapping, but everything else continues.
I don't know who these little people are, or where they came from, but they sure have the system figured out, without even saying a word.

godale03, dont worry about being scared. its all natural. things will fall in place and your instincts will take over. i was the same way when my first son was born; basivally scared sh!tless. the classes should help you know what to expect if nothing else.

Congrats to frickenjoey and lesson on the good news! congrats! I found out on the 18th what #3 is....fingers crossed for a baby girl.

Yeah... I am sure I will be fine... just a little bit of cold feet setting in I guess.

Hey Tom, is the wife making the trek to Daytona? We'll be 6 months along which Is why I was soo surpised about the tickets. Good thing there's trams to haul us around.

No, the wife is staying home for this one. I am taking my father. I was surprised she let me go. She will be 8 months pregnant once the 500 rolls around. It was her idea for me to buy the tickets so I must say I was as surprised as you were at getting tickets.

You nailed it right on the head my friend.... The nerve of those kids!!! :)

Yeah... I don't think she would be to comfortable in the stands or with all the walking around I am going to want to do. She is still cool with me going though.

I never went to classes but I witnessed a c-section up close and personal.....The Doc actually dropped an elbow into my chest to make me back up because I was over her shoulder LOL. When it's your child being born you don't see the bad crap...thats how it was for me.

Tom, don't worry brother it all fun once they get home. Just remember to feed and change the rest will work itself out.

Congrats on the new son frickenjoey, I was buying toys for mine before he was born!

Congrats on completing the set Lesson!

Funny but very true LOL

Congratulations on the birth of your son frickenjoey.
My wife was a little annoyed with me during the birth of my second son as I was watching the World Superbikes on tv in the birth suite lol.
She said something about being insensitive.
When she had our first son she said I was getting on her nerves because I was being too nice wtf.

Women....can't do right for doing wrong
