check engine temp HELP!

do i check the engine temp while it is running or directly after its off
cuz i got 318!!!!! and then 216 10 seconds later i think i may have run to much feul thrue it

Wow 318f from where did you take the temp?
Richer it up until you not going over 250f,

There's no way you got a correct reading with 100 degrees difference in 10 seconds.

This. Do a few high speed passes, come to a stop and check the temp.

i just went again i got 213 about 2 mins later 192 and 2 mins later 253 what the heck its all over the place how hard should i be driving it?

^^did you drop that temp guy at any point, cause it sounds fried!^^

Try not to rely on it that much can you still see smoke when you go WOT?

I had same problem before last month, it goes also 310 deg F. And some help of the guys here help me also. And I found out that the idle gap is very small so I put it back on 1 mm and tune again from that on my engine is fine. Now I got only 245F max temp. Cause when the idle gap is small we tend to lean the low end needle. This one may help.
