Cheap compressor?

Hey, I think I got screwed on ebay. I bought an air compressor and single-stage airbrush on ebay for $72. Since I've never air-brushed before, I thought basic would be good. It has a gauge on it and gets up to 50 lbs, but when I use the airbrush it drops to 20. Even mixing FasKolors 50% with water its not enough air pressure to spray.

Would someone confirm my fears? What do you all spray at 40-50? I did manage to paint a couple bodies tonight. I'll post some pics later.

Does it have a holding tank? and are there any pictures? If not a holding tank can make 100% difference and you can add one from wally world for about $10

Maybe the reserve tank is the answer. I'll look into it.

Here's a pick of my first airbrush efforts. I drew and exacto-ed the flame mask, and did the carbon-fiber trick to the wing (hard to see) that I learned right here.

I learned several things my first time out, like air pressure and cleaning the airbrushes. Most of my time was spent cutting out the masks. Also, the mask left some glue residue behind when I pulled the vinyl off, but I sprayed the white right over it, and it didn't show.

I used FasKolors for all the colors, and finished up with a Pactra Sprint white backing to nitro-fuel proof it. I'm pretty happy with it my first time out, makes me want to do more, once I get the equipment under control <G> .................

Thanks. Hope it doesn't get too beat up in the racing weeks ahead Actually to tell the truth, thats the good side in the photo. I've already had one light scuff with the wall on the right front. haha

I couldn't find any flame paint-masks at my HS, but having those pre-made like Parma or XXX would have made the job alot easier.
