No bike goes over 186 anymore, unless you get inside it's little brain.

I think your right. wasn't back in the day the zx12's top speed like 246 or something? Like mid 90's, I'm pretty sure that what they were spec'd at. Pretty bad ass imo.

Anytime i did get up to speeds over 100 even up to the 186 my speedo read the hwy was clear and also done on mountain roads with no driveways to chance a family backing out of. I endangered only myself.
Think about that when the little animal or the big deer comes out of the woods and into your path....
Then say to yourself, "It's okay, I'm not about to kill anyone but myself."

No showroom stock (no pipe, programmer, nothing) has ever cracked the 200mph barrier, not ever. 194mph was the fastest by the Hayabusa.

Good to know.

The zx14 (2012) has like 200hp at the crank.

Well i have been fortunate in the past by not dying by doing some of the things I've done on these bikes. I have now given it up due to disabilities unrelated to riding and am thankful that I'm still alive. If i do ever get another bike like the busa i want, it will in fact be a drag bike for the track only. My days of high speed on road are over. Now i would just prefer to slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Sad to read

Hi guys,
Gosh, you know, when I posted this thread, I wasn't expecting all the emotional experiences you have shared. It wasn't my intent to bring back any sad or hurt feelings either. I only wanted to share this short video, of that nutcase on the bike, over doing it!

So now, I hope some one, even one guy, will read this whole thread, before he goes out to purchase a crotch rocket, and has a change of heart.

Or learns to ride safely and without the horseplay and goofing off, showing his stupidity.
Driving motor vehicles and riding motorcycles is a privilege and not a right.
Don't abuse it!

For your info:
2001-2011 MTT Turbine Superbike
Top Speed: 230 mph
Model Years: 2000-Present
Engine: Rolls-Royce 250-C20 Turboshaft
Power: 320 HP (239kW)

But:
Kawasaki has released a slew of images of the 2012 ZX-14R, a motorcycle that will feature new electronic enhancements, a reworked engine and slightly restyled bodywork for next year.

As reported by Asphalt & Rubber, the engine block will be stroked to 1,441cc and the cylinder head will be ported and polished for greater flow. In addition, the ZX-14R will make use of a higher compression ratio and new cam timing. No one's saying exactly how much power that will all add up to, but Kawasaki calls the bike the world's fastest-accelerating production motorcycle.

In addition to the reworked innards, the 2012 ZX-14R will also come packing traction control (sounds like a good idea...) for the first time as well as a throttle-by-wire system. The KTRC traction control system will offer the rider three different settings, all selectable from the handlebar and viewable from the gauge cluster. The bike will also features a few changes to the frame for a little more rigidity. Stay tuned for more details.

Y2k is made about an hour away from my house.

Hi,
MTT Turbine Superbike, also known as Y2K Turbine Superbike, is the world's second wheel driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc. Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series turboshaft engine, producing 238kW (320hp), this motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h), with a price tag of US$150,000. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most powerful production motorcycle" and the "Most expensive production motorcycle".Unlike other contemporary motorcycles(such as the Hayabusa), 2001 and later models of MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE do not have the 300 km/h speed limit self-imposed by Japanese manufacturers.

Hi,
Testy aren't we? You may know it, but others may very well not.
Please don't be selfish. Knowledge is valuable, allow others thee privilege too.
Thanks, I knew you would understand my Spock.
