is there a certain way that is recommended to charge the receiver pack? what i mean is, does it affect the battery life if i charge it after only running for 10 or 20 minutes? sometimes i only run a tank or two and figure i might as well charge the batteries for the next run.

no thats fine. they are nickel metal hydride (NIMH) so they do not retain a memory. you can throw them on the charger whenever and not worry about them not being all the way dead... however overcharging will damage the cells. be careful not to do that, this is why a peak charger is nice.

I'm using the charger that came with the revo. i guess its a peak detecting charger. also it blinks fast when fast charging but then trickle charges for a total of up to 90 min. should i always leave it plugged in for awhile after it stops blinking?

You are ok to take it off after it starts blinking. The manual says you can take it off or leave it on with no harm. It shuts off all charging including trickle after 90 minutes. I use my Revo charger on all my other R/C batt packs. I have converted all my cars, trucks and buggies to rechargeable packs with a new switch set up that has the extra plug so I can charge without taking the batt pack out.

You can do as you have been doing. As stated the NiMH does not have a memory so if you want to bump after every run go ahead (bit of overkill though). I'd suggest though if you have another charger try it out. I mostly run nitro and don't have a nice charger but found that using another charger gives me a much better charge with longer runs times than the one included with the Revo.

so far I'm ok with the run time I'm getting, was just curious, couldn't find any info on the subject in the manuals. i fully broke it in, 5-6 tanks without charging the rx battery and thats plenty of run time for me.
