Hi guys
not sure about charging my batterys

I've got a swollow charger

my rotor pack is a LRP 1600 NiCD pak, was told i can charge them @5 amps

my truck pack is LRP 5.0v 1400 NiMA pak and needs to be charged @ 1amp

does this sound correct??

that doesn't sound right to me. I generall divide by 1000 and then take off another .1 just to be sure. a 1600 pack i would charge at 1.5A and the 1400 i would probably just charge at 1A. With capacities that low, i can't imagine it taking that long to charge.

If you're in a real hurry I would charge the 1600 at 3 amps, and for regular charging I would charge it just like flm savage said. You will get longer battery life out of them by not charging them at such high rates all the time. Even my 5000 mah packs that I charge at 4 amps don't take very long to charge at all.

When you want to upgade you batteries, the best deal that I've found is 3300 nimh Venom batteries on ebay for $24 shipped or something like that. If you want to buy big batteries on a budget, the Venom 5000 mah nimh batteries are on there for $48 shipped, the retail in the hobby shop for about $80 to $90. The maxamps battery packs are of much better quality, but are also more expensive. I use the Venom to bash around with because even if something happens a few months down the road, I don't have a lot of money tied up in them. But all my Venom batteries that I've been using since December are still going strong.
