Changing cooling head

Hello, If I change the cooling head on my engine does it have to be the same one? or can I use any cooling head?

Usually you need the same, but there are exceptions. What engine???

There's cooling heads available but that depends on which motor you have. For example there's more options for associated, hpi and traxxas compared to redcat and exceed. It's also very important to transfer the head shims you currently have now to the new cooling head.

If the combustion chamber is made on the head then it will need to be replaced with one for the same size engine. If it has the separate button for the chamber,then if the bolt pattern matches you can use whatever you want.
