Just seen this on eBay a carbon fiber chassis suppose to be 2.3oz lighter then a stock chassis. any one have one, or got any ideas on how well it would hold up? Chassis flex?

saweet that should hold up VERY well and have some pretty good flex to it if it holds up good on dirtbikes than it should deff shine through over the other chassis's. Any idea how much that is going for id love to have a carbon fiber chassis?

if u click that link that says.. "carbon fiber chassis" thats under lined. it sends u to eBay where they have a buy it now for $49.95. u can get the chassis with or without the cut outs and holes. lol. i dont really want chassis flex cuz that screws up the gear mesh.

depends how thivk or thin it is for flex i can't really tell how thick it is if its thick it should be sturdy but to me it looks a lil thin

I agree with Maxx Trooper. Chassis flex is a bad thing for the gears. At $50, how much extra do you have to spend on aluminum reinforcements to keep it from flexing? Not for me.

exactly, i already have aluminum chassis braces, so it might be Ok.

FULL DISCRIPTION

This auction is for one brand new Carbon Fiber Chassis for the Traxxas T-maxx monster truck. Will also fit Sportmax. The stock chassis weighs 6.6 oz. This chassis weighs 4.3 oz and has the trick Carbon Fiber weave showing. That means it will remove 2.3 oz from your truck.Carbon Fiber by nature is very stiff, so in will be almost impossible to break. It has been CNC machined from 1/8" thick CF to ensure a perfect fit and uses all the stock locations for the chassis components. I can also supply this chassis without stock mounting locations(blank) for the components for those of you that like to mount there own fuel tank, receiver box, etc. Please e-mail if you are interested in one of the blank chassis. They would be the same price.

1/8 inch is pritty good thickness for CF but it WILL flex more than a TI or alum chassis but with alum chassis braces you shoul dbe set and CF id VERY durable

I've been running one for a while now, the only alum you need is the steering servo mount. I already had skids and braces, which just about everyone runs anyway. So far it holds up pretty good, no probs yet, even with a Sirio .18 that's been modded a bit. :mex:

G8RMaxx do u have ne pic of ur t-maxx with the carbon fiber chassis? i would like to see it. the aluminum steering mounts are really needed for the carbon fiber chassis? cuz i already got aluminum chassis braces and aluminum skids aluminum bulkheads, aluminum this and that.

You saw it in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I had the orange Gators shirt on and my truck body is orange. The alum servo mounts are'nt totally necessary, but that's the only place where there is any flex to worry about. With a high torque servo it flexes a little. Alum skids and braces are all you really need.

ohh yeaaa thats right. but i never seen ur truck with the lid off. o well. got a question for u in the other thread.
