CB/spur gear

I decided I wanted to go toward having more of a punch than speed so I was considering playing with an 18T and a 70t. How much of a difference will that make compared to the stock which if I recall is 22/58.

You can't put a 70t on a 3.3 trans
If you want good top end go 24 cb 54 sg thats what the older 4909 maxx had and that flew
I am currently running 22/54 with my rb tm523 sporting trencher x's and it hauls

Alternatively the lowest you can go is 58/18 without mods

22/58 would be 3.3 spec 4908/7 models
The 2.5 Maxx runs a 20T / 70T stock gearing.
You wouldn’t be able to properly fit a 70T spur on a 3.3 spec slipper clutch.

22/58 is a 2.63:1 ratio.
To get close to the 18T/70T = 3.88:1 ratio you’re looking for you would need something around 62T/16T = 3.87:1 ratio to fit the 3.3 spec slipper.
3.88 is a lot of torque, I would look for something a little taller around 3.0:1 would be better suited.
Divide the number of teeth on the spur, by the number of teeth on the bell to find the ratio.

I kink of questioned the 70 thing myself plus it was not an option in the parts list for the 4907 nor is an 18t cb ..thanks for the info on figuring ratio, a 20/62 gives me a 3.1:1 , I will give this a try as I am enjoying tearing these things apart and putting them back together

The 70 and 72 t was for the old 2.5 maxx. The biggest I think you can fit on the new 3.3 is 62 I think
