I have two problems:

1. The clutchbell rubs the side of the spurgear.

2. The crankshaft is to long. The shaft sticks out past the clutchbell about 1/8 in

What do I do?
I will post pics in a minute.

What engine? What clutch bell? Do you have all your bearing and shims in? Flywheel collet? Just food for thought. May see more when you put up a pic.

XTM 24.7, 15t savage cb, 49t spur, XTM slider clutch.

Does anyone make an adjustable motor mount?

Everything fit okay on my mammoth with the 2 gear spur.

Heres the pic

Take out some washers/shims behind the CB, I had to do this w/ the S-25 and MBX-4 flywheel.

Well...looks like you have a flywheel that's too long...

But, I'm sure if you look around, you can find a new motor mount that'll solve your problem...

also check to make sure the engine plate isnt bent or lose, or engine plate brace isnt bent. you can allso enlarge the holes on engine plate and use washers on bolts when replacing the engine mount back on.. then you can move it back some.

What collet are you using? I had to machine mine down a little. I really mean "machine" as it needs to be flush and spot on. You can't have a lopsided one. after that it fits perfect. Ask your LHS if they carry an 1/8th scale collet that is shorter.

Let us know

Nova and hotbodies both make adjustable mounts. I heard the Nova is a big pain to tighten down. I have the hotbodies mount and it moves the engine 2mm rearward.

Really? I am going to look into that so I can use taller gearing. Yes I do agree on the Nova being a pain in the ass to adjust. I have that down to a science so its just time consuming.

O duh! I forgot all about that, and that's sad considering I had to do the exact same thing to my collet to get the CB to sit back further...

that cb looks way out there make sure there isnt any shims.. maby a bg brass bushing that you can take out and use mutiple washers.. plaid should jump in hes good at shimming these

His clutchbell looks like it sticks too far forward because he's using that XTM sliding clutch. He already said he doesn't have any shims in back of the clutchbell.

BAD, neither of the two items you linked to are the hotbodies adjustable mount, the first is an engine plate, and the second looks like it can be adjustable. The hotbodies mount is 3 pieces, the two side plates can be flipped which give you the 2mm of rearward movement.

Do you have a bench grinder or stationary disc sander? I would try and get some of the material off one end of the collet. BTW, don't try this if you don't have another collet on hand! that would really suck. All you need is a little bit of clearance and maybe the collet is just too tall. Try looking for a lower profile collet. Maybe that would help.

Also it looks like the clutch bell is rubbing on the brake disc (scratch marks on the front of the clutch housing} . Make sure that your collet (cone for fly wheel) is all the way on and seated before you put the fly wheel on

can you put a different flywheel on it?? that thing is huge!!
I have that same motor in my truck...and i know by using the stock Savage flywheel and shoes it will.
