My lhs is opening a new store in Omaha NE and They're going to build a carpet track. Do a lot of lhs's do that? I think it will be kinda cool becuz you can always keep the same pair of tires on your truck for ever. But it won't be as fun as spinning and doing fish tails and rooster tails in the dirt. :normal:

I've never seen one myself but I've reaced on plenty and carpet tracks kick ass IMHO. You great great traction but you can also power slide with relative ease.

Peace

sweet! I'm looking forward to it then! Thanks

but wait, you said you'v never seen one but you've raced on plenty??

Hey dude,

Sorry I should have clarified, I meant to say that I've never seen a carpet track @ an LHS. THis is a relatively large city and the only thing an LHS has is an indoor dirt track.

....Three of my buddies and one big group of guys that I know have dedicated carpet tracks setup for Mirco and Electric touring racing. WE also setup up jumps and chit on the carpet to race electrig buggies and stadium trucks. It's by far my favorite surface to race on and way more fun for me then regular smooth indoor surfaces that recquire the use of racing foams and traction compounds.

If your really interested my friends and I have some winning setup for carpet racing that I could share with you.

Peace

ok please do. I'm very interested. I have a nitro rusty. How could you race touring cars on carpet?

well lets start by saying that if its an indoor track, you will be racing electric. not nitro.
carpet touring is done with electric touring cars on carpet.
as far as a power slide on carpet.. I guess if your car was not setup for handling, it would slide.
We carpet racers try not to slide>>

Where do you race carpet? I like to hit some places over the winter months that I've never been to before.

RC Madness in Enfield CT and Speedzone Hobbies in Cromwell have indoor racing. There is another one near Yale Univesity, but I don't know the name.

You are a long way away from here to know that. RCCA track directory??? I have raced oval at madness in the past, Speedzone is 18th scale stuff i think.
