It depends on what part of the body the flames are on. Also what color you're planning on painting them. If you're going to use the non-slip mat method of painting the CF, it's easiest to do it on flatter parts of the body. The mat doesn't work all that well on complex curves unless you tack it down. Usually you can use a spray adhesive very lightly to hold it. But I don't know if that will affect the following coat.
If you have the flame area adequately masked off, it really should be too much of a problem otherwise.
