The other day I puchased a Nitro Sport with a trx .15 motor. I havnt had the chance to break in the motor because I am having problems with my carborater. I would start the motor with the easy starter and every time I apply the brakes, the moter would stall out. I took off the air filter and looked into the air intake and notice that when I apply the brakes, the servo would push the throttle back too far, closing the throttle. I have tried adjusting the idle screw as far as it would go clockwise but still when the brakes are applied, it would close the throttle, not leaving the said by the manual 1 an 1/2 mm gap in throttle opening. Does anybody know what would the probblem be? I dont think it would be the mixture setting. The carb. doesn't have a low speed mixture setting. Thank you.....

It has to be the idle screw adjustment. I was having the same problem with one of my mills recently and after taking it out of the car and inspecting everything closely I found that the idle screw was actually backed almost all the way out. It took about 8 full turns to get it to contact the slide valve again. By holding it in my hand and slowly turning the idle screw in I could feel when it was far enough in to contact it. One I felt it contact i turned it 2 full turns and it has been there ever since and runs great.

How far can you turn the idle screw in before you damage the screw or the bore? I took the spring out to see if it would go further. what I'm trying to do is to get that 1.5 mm gap but when the brake is applied, the hole gets pushed back towards the motor and closing the gap. If i turn it clockwise to much then the bore will get stuck and wont even turn. This is getting fustrating. Want to get this car broke in so that i can attend the races at the maryland steel city hobbies.

Have you tried playing with the throttle trim? Also try recentering your throttle servo arm.

I figured out what was wrong. haha There was a little black plug in the air intake. I pulled it out with a pair of pliers which widened the air intake hole. thanks so much for the advice!!!
