carb shuts when i hit the breaks

anyone had the carb shut on them when they hit the breaks. no matter how i set the carb it shuts if i pull full break. the linkage is sliding on the rod ok and nothing is bent i can adjust the idle gap out to about 2mm and it still shuts when i hit the breaks.

If the idle screw on the carb will not stop the valve from closing it is broken/stripped...

how are you adjusting the idle gap? there is a small screw on the carb to adjust it. It can get lost under/below the air filter housing.

if this is what you are using, as snook said, it may be stripped.

i think it maybe starting to strip but its still holding up.
i got it to work about 10 minutes after i posted and this was the frist chance i got to get back on so thanks guys.
