hi i have a question about my carb thats on a .26 ofna engine... when i run the engine everything goes well, but when i stop and put the car back away n the engine gets cold, the piston in the carb gets stuck.. n the way i foudn to unstick it is i put 3-4 drops of after run oïl witch lubs it up n gets it loose again.... why does it do that ??? and again when i run it it goes very well n does get stuck its only when its on cool down that it gets stuck.. please advise

It sounds like your piston is getting stuck at top dead center. Always make sure you set the piston to bottom dead center when you're done driving. Not good to let the engine cool with the piston stuck at TDC. This a new/newer engine?

I'm sorry i didnt explain this right i didnt mean the piston in the engine i meant in the carb the throttle barrel the thing that moves Inside your carb when u give it gas.. that gets stuck
and no the engine isnt new

Nope my bad, forgot how go read. It gets stuck to the point where throttle servo can't budge it? Do you have a diagram of the carb pieces? If it we're me I would detach it from the engine, take it apart and clean it good with denatured alcohol. May need to replace the o-rings on the slide.

May need to replace the o-rings on the slide.

*Inside the slide.

slide carb or rotary carb?....in either case sometimes the idle stop screw doesn't set right but that is usually the case with rotary, otherwise there is either an o ring broke and a piece of it is jamming the action, and or there is a slight build of rust going on inside there,a simple dissasembly of the carb is gunna be in order,.....have you made certain that it is not in the linkadge or the servo itself?

I no for sure it's not the servo because when it gets stuck I take the linkadge off n with what your saying I think it's more rust then a piece of the o ring .. When it gets stuck it's really stuck if I dont oil it n pry it out it seems jammed and still hase a bit of hard time to go in and out till I oil it then it works a1 again .. So I guess I'll clean out the carb !! Thanks

btw I only pryed it out the first time didn't no what else to do and also were I am the temperature is like -15/-20 ATM could that b the problem ?

The old Picco/ Force .26 engines were notorious for sticking slide valves. There used to be a mod posted online to fix it but I can't seem to find it.
My Picco WS3 had the same issue.
A few things you can try to remedy the problem:
*Use a throttle return spring,
*line up the carb body and throttle linkage as straight as you can,
*try a fuel with a higher oil content.
The carb body is composite, the slide valve is aluminum. Cold could be a factor , although I had issues with mine regardless of temps.

Seriously doubt the cold could cause it to stick like that. In any event I would take the carb off, disassemble and make sure the internals are in good shape. If everything checks out, maybe it is the cold. And I thought it was cold here!

What's that in farenheight
Somewhere around +5 and -4 or so Fahrenheit.

Would be hard to keep engine temps up with it being that cold. Hate to say it but you may want to wait for better weather.

It may be the fuel, sometimes if it isn't that good, it turns into a horrible sticky mess.
