  1. Bashing
I am brand new to nitro trucks, I traded a guy some speakers for a HPI savage X and I have a couple questions.

1. Fuel is leaking out of my midrange needle when I prime the engine, I've determined i need a new oring, will this effect performance until i get a new oring.

2. Should I rebuild the carb on it or just buy a new carb? any suggestions on new carbs?

3. I was told it has a 4.6 engine is there any way to tell for sure?

5. What website do you reccomend for ordering parts, I'm sick of getting scammed.

Any feedback would be great guys thanks for the help.

Only one engine for the Savage from HPI has a mid speed needle, the K4.6.
Do not run the truck until you replace the O-ring. Axial made that engine for HPI. You can pick up a O-ring kit for the Axial .28 carb cheaper than you can the HPI.
This is the complete kit, it is the cheapest route. You may as well have all the replacements just in case.

Well it's out of stock, I can't find it on E-Bay either.
So here;

Is the K4.6 a good engine, the carb seems to be very finicky. oh and awhunt all the needles are flush back to factory settings, now it wont start, I guess i didnt know what I was getting myself into.

if i were you, i'd take it to your LHS, let them get it running and have them give it a slightly rich tune for now, then see if you can tune it out from there. how long did the original owner have the truck and was then mill ever even broken in ? post a few pics of it.

the k4.6 is a fine engine and nitros are very finicky. be patient with the truck and read everything you can about nitro tuning and savages and everything will pretty soon fall into place.

maybe head over to a strictly savage forum get some specialized help with your new truck.

Replace the leaky o-ring and it will be a breeze to tune. Like I said, don't run it until you replace the leaky O-rings. it's a good mill. If it has good compression, then it is worth fixing.
Leaks make any engine finicky.

Ordered the O-ring kit and a new glow plug, crossing my fingers. Thanks for all the help guys
